Next time you check out at Wegmans, you'll be asked if you want to donate a few dollars or round up your bill to support the United Way.

The United Way Scan Campaign is underway until May 3. During the scan campaign, shoppers can choose to donate a specific amount ($2, $3, or $5) to United Way at the Wegmans checkout.

“Every year we’re inspired by the generosity of our customers and employees as they support this scanning campaign for the United Way,” said Sarah DePeters, Wegmans district manager. “These donations provide vital funds for so many programs that make a positive impact for our neighbors and local community.”

The funds raised will go to support a variety of local needs, including mental health support, skills training for teens, food, shelter and clothing.

“There are a lot of pressures on individuals and families to make ends meet,” said Jaime Saunders, United Way president & CEO. “When partners like Wegmans lean in and support, we can do the most for our community.  We are incredibly grateful for the support of Wegmans staff and customers. The scan campaign will go a long way in helping our neighbors thrive.”

In 2024, Wegmans raised $4.2 million for United Way.
