CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A fire that broke out Saturday morning at a Charlotte Douglas International Airport parking deck has been deemed accidental, authorities said.
The blaze started in the engine compartment of a vehicle and spread to three others, causing $105,000 in damage, the Charlotte Fire Department said in a social media post.
The fire was reported about 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the parking deck at 5488 Josh Birmingham Parkway and caused the upper-level road and other parking facilities to be closed briefly. Three people suffered minor injuries.
Elevators on the west side of the parking deck remained closed Saturday night, airport authorities said.
