An emotional memorial mass was held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral Saturday — the one-year anniversary of the loss of two NYPD officers Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora.

The two police officers were shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call in Harlem last year.

Rivera was just 22-years-old and Mora was 27-years-old. Both were from the Dominican Republic.

The loved ones of Rivera and Mora are still grieving.

“I lost my husband, my partner, my friend, and most importantly, my soul mate,” said Dominique Rivera, the widow of Jason Rivera. “I may hear a few voices saying, I am here for you if you need me. But the only person I am seeking and yearning for, it’s him.”

At the ceremony, row after row of uniformed officers joined the families. The bilingual mass had tributes from both families.

Karina Mora spoke in Spanish, saying her brother had a beautiful heart. She said loss has been difficult, but made easier with the support of the department.

Elected officials were present, among them Mayor Eric Adams and Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell.

“We are committed to doing everything possible to ensure we do not lose young people in this manner,” Adams said as he addressed the large crowd.

“In this hallowed space, we honor and remember two vibrant souls adored by their families, respected by their colleagues, and committed to this city,” said Sewell.

Deputy Inspector Amir Yakatally, commanding officer of the 32nd Precinct, where the officers were assigned, says if anything good came from the tragedy, it was the compassion it created between the community and the command.

“The support we got from the community and the sorrow that we saw from just regular men and women walking past the precinct, the people from all over the world, they recognized that Jason Will, where their sons and their brothers as well as police officers,” Yakatally said.

As the ceremony concluded, a touching moment from the Rivera’s widow as she revealed she is pregnant with her late husband’s child.

“I am blessed to say that Jason and I will be expecting our miracle this spring,” said Rivera. “To my unborn child. My hope is that with time, guidance and love, they too will get to know their father. And as a family, we will allow to never forget and honor Jason’s tremendous legacy of service and ultimate sacrifice.”
