The Harlem Renaissance Classic 2022, a basketball tournament, is set for Saturday, Nov. 19 at the City College of New York.
The tournament will bring Historically Black Colleges and Universities into New York City to help foster a dialogue about race, politics and economic empowerment.
Three HBCU teams will play teams from predominantly white institutions.
Darryl K. Roberts, founder of Bridging Structural Holes, which is putting on the tournament, joined NY1 to talk more about the event.
“Our mission is to ensure that underserved, under resourced groups receive the access opportunities and resources to help them live better lives,” he said.
