A single bouquet of flowers lies outside to the building where 33-year-old Fahim Saleh was killed. A friend of the tech entrepreneur, whose body was found dismembered in his $2.5 million apartment, said she is horrified by his death.

What You Need To Know

  • Sources say Saleh was attacked by a suspect wearing all black.

  • Sources say Saleh’s body was found by his sister, who called 911.

  • Saleh’s head, arms and legs were cut off.

  • Saleh was the CEO of a motorcycle company and a tech entrepreneur.

“He was sweet. He was funny. He made everyone feel welcomed,” said the friend, who didn’t want to be identified.

Police say Saleh’s body was discovered in his Lower East Side apartment Tuesday afternoon with his head, arms and legs cut off.

Sources say his body parts were found in several bags in the apartment and that his sister made the gruesome discovery during a wellness check. A man walking his dog when Saleh’s sister exited the apartment said she could hardly get the words out.

"She came out of the building just saying that he has no head,” the man said. “And she kept pointing to her arms in an almost cutting motion. And she was completely inconsolable.”

Sources say security video shows Saleh getting on the elevator Monday afternoon just before another man, who was dressed in black and carrying a small bag, got on with him.

Sources say that man attacked Saleh when the elevator door opened up to his 7th-floor apartment.

It is believed this was a professional job and the suspect may have left in a hurry, based on what was left behind, including a power saw.

Saleh was the CEO of a motorbike startup he founded, and had invested in several other startups.

His company, Gokada, tweeted, ”Fahim was a great leader, inspiration and positive light for all of us,” while extending their condolences to his family.

“The world would’ve been so much better if he was still in it,” said Salem’s friend. “Everything he did was special.”

Police have been tight-lipped about the investigation, but sources say they are looking at many angles, including whether this may have to do with a business deal gone bad.

According to the NYPD, the investigation is still ongoing.
