Ahead of the Jewish spring festival of Passover and Purim, kosher foodies descended on Manhattan for a special tasting. And they brought along their appetite.

Eighteen hundred enthusiasts and entrepreneurs raised a glass or two and tasted the many different offerings on display at the 14th Annual Kosher Food and Wine Experience Monday, February 17th.

Some were people in the hospitality business looking for new bites. Visitors tried options from various caterers and samples from more than 30 different wineries. The event is specifically held ahead of the two big Jewish holidays, where people celebrate and indulge. One wine marketer said it's the perfect occasion to help figure out what people want to serve on their holiday table.

Jay Buchsbaum is the Executive Vice President of Marketing and Director of Wine Education for Royal Wine Corp. He says "you need a lot of wine for the seder. And people want to get the best and the most interesting and the most diverse they can. Here is the place to find out about. Here is the place to see which one's there going to be getting."

There was definitely no shortage of alcohol. Organizers say they had two thousand bottles of wine on hand and five thousand wine glasses.
