Some Manhattan residents are saying they won't be rocking around this Christmas tree in Harlem until some fixes are made.

This is the tree that's drawing complaints.

It was put up about a week ago outside the Adam Clayton Powell Junior State Office Building on 125th Street.

People we spoke are upset that the tree has few decorations except for some lights.

"The message that it's sending is a message of disparity. Its sending a message of disconnect. It's sending a message of impoverishment,” said one person.

"I hope we get it rectified before the New Year and I hope the kid will come out and come see the carolers sing because it's about that. It's about giving back and what we can do as a love for Christmas,” said another.

The state's Office of General Services tells NY1 it is addressing the controversy and will put more decorations on the tree.
