The National Multiple Sclerosis Society hosted its 11th Annual MS Climb to the Top NYC event at the iconic Rockefeller Center on Sunday.

Fifteen hundred climbed 1,215 stairs which is the equivalent of 66 stories.

Each step was to raise awareness about the disease, which affects the central nervous system and currently has no cure.

"A study just came out that shows that the prevalence rate for MS is twice as much as we thought it was which means that one million people in the United Stated are living with multiple sclerosis."

The event raised more than $830,000 for multiple sclerosis research. Organizers have a goal of reaching $1 million by April 3rd.
