NEW YORK - Professional bull riders are saddling up right in New York for the kick-off their season.

The three-day event begins Friday night at Madison Square Garden.

Organizers say holding the event at MSG is an honor.

"We are excited to be here. This is our 13th year back. We love coming to this place. It's always great crowds, great time on the island. We have a blast," said Professional Bull Riders Production Manager Jim Martin.

The Garden had to undergo a quick transformation from a hockey rink, which was used by the Rangers on Thursday.

First, 750 sheets of plywood were put over the ice and then 750 tons of dirt were poured on top of it.

About a hundred bulls are being trucked in.
