Do you have old clothes, accessories or linens around your home that you'd like see donated to a good cause but don't really know where to bring them?

The Sanitation department may have the perfect solution for you.  Its a program called refashion NYC and the agency brings collection bins to buildings with 10 or more apartments, schools, office and commercial buildings. You put the items you wish to donate in the bins and once it is full Sanitation picks them up and the items are donated to Housing Works which is non-profit fighting AIDS and homelessness.  Sanitation representatives say it is all about convenience.

"You know if it is installed in your laundry room and you are going downstairs to do laundry you can just throw it in the bin that way.  We know sometimes it is hard.  You want to do the right thing and it is sometimes hard to get to the place it needs to go so we just want to make it as possible for you to do that," said Senior Manager of Apartment Programs Ashlee Barker.
