Police are investigating a case of vandalism at the Mexican Consulate in Manhattan.
Investigators say some threw red paint at the building located at 27 East 39th Street in Midtown between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the consulate says the vandalism may be related to protests being held for 43 students who disappeared in Mexico last September
Officials say they have recovered surveillance video and a container from the scene.
The Mexican president is currently in town for the General Assembly and gave a speech at the UN Monday morning.
