A taxi driver is under arrest after police say he hit a 20-year-old woman on a Manhattan street.
Twenty-nine-year-old Babul Miah faces failure to exercise due care and right of way charges.
Witnesses say the victim was caught under his yellow cab before it crashed into a phone booth around 5:30 p.m. at 57th Street and Eighth Avenue.
They say she was crossing the street when the cab, which was making a turn, hit her.
One of her co-workers saw the accident and described the scene.
"I heard everything and then when I looked, I saw her being dragged. She was already under the car," she said.
"It was hectic. It was just hectic. Everybody was mad because it was so much people. Her boyfriend, the people who was watching it, was like, 'Could you stop, stop, stop,'" another woman said.
The victim remains in critical condition.
