New York Fashion Week has returned to New York City with some of the world’s top designers showcasing their latest collections.

Among those present was Samantha Barry, editor-in-chief of Glamour magazine.

Barry, like many other fashion enthusiasts will attend shows through Feb. 11 to see the new designs paraded on the runway, but said Friday during an interview on “Mornings On 1” there are already plenty of standout looks.

“In terms of the actual clothes you're seeing, they’re kind of moving away from quiet luxury, and it's more layering, it's more sequins, it's more fringe,” she said.

Meanwhile, just the size of some pieces is starting to trend.

“I think some of the trends that are already coming out—it's either like really small or think really big. So it's like micro, micro minis or, like oversized, oversized,” Barry said.

When asked about one piece New Yorkers could add to their wardrobe this spring, Barry pointed to "barrel jeans" as a must-have item.
