This year, Earth Week comes at a time of heightened uncertainty about New York's climate future. As part of sweeping cuts to federal spending, the Trump administration is halting $300 million in FEMA funding for climate and resiliency projects here in the city.
Several projects are now at risk of losing funding.
The Waterfront Alliance, a group dedicated to preparing the city's coastal communities for climate change, is among those raising the alarm.
