City officials are reminding drivers that enforcement of the School Bus Stop-Arm Safety Program is now in effect across Buffalo.

Drivers who are caught illegally passing a stopped school bus could be issued a ticket with a $250 fine.

Earlier this year, all Buffalo Public Schools buses were equipped with stop-arm cameras to catch violators.

The company bus patrol worked with BPS and the city of Buffalo to install the cameras, which are powered by artificial intelligence. It’s a service free to the schools and funded by violations. AI records the incident, and city workers review it before issuing warnings and citations.
