A teenager died after subway surfing on a Brooklyn-bound F train in Brooklyn Friday, the MTA said.

The teenager’s body was found after 2 p.m. at the Avenue N station, according to police, who said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not immediately release the identity of the victim pending notification of the family. Their age was also not immediately released by authorities.

This is the second subway surfing death since the MTA launched a campaign in September 2023 to raise awareness of subway surfing’s dangers, the agency said.

The campaign includes anti-subway surfing messages that play in the subway system and NYPD officers who patrol during after-school hours, trying to prevent subway surfing from even starting. The NYPD also uses drones to monitor elevated subway lines.

Some young people have posted pictures and videos of them subway surfing to social media. The MTA has been urging social media companies to take down any subway surfing posts.

In 2023, there were at least five subway surfing deaths, according to the MTA. The agency said the number has increased in recent years.
