ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — The annual DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, Apr. 26, at participating police precincts across the St. Louis area.
The focus of the program is to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from medicine cabinets for destruction across the country, according to a press release.
Police will also provide a drop off kiosk in the Shrewsbury Walmart parking lot. Anyone can anonymously drop off unused or unwanted prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The DEA will coordinate a collaborative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies. The take-back day also aims to bring national focus to the issue of pharmaceutical drug abuse.
