NEW YORK - Police are investigating after a 79-year-old man was killed and two others were hurt after a stabbing in Brooklyn early Sunday evening.

The NYPD says it happened shortly after 6 p.m. inside an apartment building located at 300 Putnam Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant. 

The 79-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach, a 49-year-old man was slashed in the hand, and a 4-year-old girl was slashed in the hip.

Police have a 22-year-old man in custody.

Investigators say he is related to the three victims. 

It's unclear what led to the stabbing.
