BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The New York City Police Department is investigating five armed robberies that happened around Brooklyn, the most recent on Sunday.
Police believe a group of men are responsible for all of them.
Sunday's robbery happened around noon, at a jewelry store on Hanover Place, just off Fulton Street, in Downtown Brooklyn.
The four men seen on surveillance footage held a 65-year-old employee at gunpoint.
The store is near a school, which has some parents and community members concerned.
"I'm very concerned because my son goes to school next door. It concerns me that something occurred like that, in this neighborhood," said one resident.
"Right next to a school, unfortunate time of day. I think maybe there should be more security. It's sad, I see the young kids getting out of school every morning. Pretty bold," said one worker.
The rest of the robberies happened between the end of September and earlier this month.
Those took place at a laundromat in Bushwick, a Metro PCS store in Bedford-Stuyvesant, a T-Mobile store in East Flatbush and another jewelry store in East Williamsburg.
During the second jewelry store heist on October 5, the men made off with 50 thousand dollars worth of jewelry, plus thousands in cash and several cellphones.
