A man was charged Friday afternoon with shooting two bystanders, including an 11-year-old child, in broad daylight on a street in Brooklyn.

27-year-old Brooklyn resident Angel Eaddy faces multiple charges, including attempted murder and assault.

Police said surveillance video showed Eaddy firing several times just after 7 p.m. Thursday along Schenectady Avenue near Lincoln Place in Crown Heights. Officials said he missed his intended target, hitting Jayden Grant and a 31-year-old, whose identity has not been released as of this writing.

The 11-year-old was taken to a local hospital in critical condition after he was shot in the upper chest area. He underwent surgery Thursday night and was expected to survive.

"He wasn't crying, he was just there. I don't know if it was his mother or his sister, but they were like, 'Why you would shoot him? Why would you do that? You shot him, you shot him, oh my God,'" one witness recalled.

The 31-year-old was struck in his left leg and was able to walk to the hospital for treatment.

Police said this was a gang-related shooting.

The area has seen 12 shootings so far this year, up from 7 around this time last year.

Jayden was supposed to attend his fifth grade graduation ceremony Friday. Jayden's barber, Marland Kenton, said he was getting his haircut for the graduation.

"It's really sad. Like I said, he's a real humble kid, and at that age they're really not into anything," Kenton said. "Just trying to do what you got to do to get through life."

Jayden's school community launched a GoFundMe campaign to help his family pay for his medical costs.
