Brooklyn students at the Madiba Prep School for Social Justice and Innovation got to meet Nelson Mandela's grandson, Ndaba Mandela recently.

Mandela's grandson talked about his grandfather and the importance of fighting for racial justice and human rights.

Nelson Mandela gained world-wide fame for his peaceful, non-violent opposition to the apartheid policies of the South African government. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 for his efforts. But not before he was arrested and jailed for 27 years until his  release in 1990.  Shortly thereafter, Mandela visited the school building where his grandson visited today.

It was then called the Boys and Girls High School.

Mandela says he wants to set the next generation up for success. "I want to motivate them to know they are masters of their own destiny and they should follow their heart and try to conquer the world."

Mandela's grandson is the co-founder and co-chairman of the African Rising Foundation.
