BROOKLYN - A new art exhibit called "Bridge Over Tree" has been installed at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
It's fittingly named since it features a bridge that goes up and over an actual tree.
The 90-foot long bridge is located on the Empire Fulton Ferry Lawn and is built over an evergreen tree.
The design is one of the most renowned works of Iranian born artist Siah Armajani.
The bridge work is an adaption of a similar one installed in his hometown of Minneapolis nearly 50 years ago.
The idea of the bridge is to connect communities, ideas and people.
This exhibit is sponsored by The Public Art Fund.
"Every year The Public Art Fund does something just totally unique and amazing in the part adding a whole new element for park visitors to enjoy," said Brooklyn Bridge Park President Eric Landau.
The exhibit coincides with a retrospective of Armajani's work at the Met Breuer on East 75th Street.
