One of the busiest libraries in Brooklyn is about to get a whole lot bigger.
Officials broke ground Wednesday on a brand new Sunset Park Library branch. It'll be double the size of the previous one.
The first of its kind project includes 49 affordable apartments that'll be built on top of the library.
"We are thrilled at the library to be able to double the size of the existing library because this community are filled with people that use the library daily and take advantage of all the programs we offer here so it's a dream come true," said Library President Linda Johnson.
The $35m project was funded by both public and private funds. The new building is expected to be complete in December of 2020.
