At a gas station in East New York, there’s not much else people are talking about.

In the last few days, Arnold’s Food Mart on Linden Boulevard sold the winning Powerball ticket, the jackpot, nearly $300 million.

"I play here all the time. Every day I play at this place,” said one loyal customer who we spotted playing today. “I heard on the street that someone won here, I came right out and checked my ticket. I was hoping it was me, but it’s not. I have to try again."

New Yorkers are cashing in on Powerball. The last two big jackpots were also sold in the five boroughs.

A Harlem resident won more than $300 million in November and in August a Staten Island Stop and Shop sold a more than $200 million winning ticket.

The owners of each shop where the lucky tickets are sold get a 10 thousand dollar commission, but it’s not the first time a big winning ticket was sold at the Citgo Station where the most recent Powerball winner bought their ticket.

Workers say several years ago a $1,000,000 Mega Millions ticket was sold here, but it expired after it was not claimed.

Customers don’t expect the same outcome.

"Somebody gonna collect that," said one person at the gas station.

The Powerball jackpot will return to $40 million for Saturday night’s drawing.

After taxes, a one-time payout on the $298 million jackpot would be about $185 million.
