A Greenpoint building owner brightens up his neighborhood with a new mural.
Peter Kirchhausen commissioned Swedish artist, Ola Kalnins to paint a mural on the side of his family's Greenpoint building.
The massive mural on the corner of Greenpoint and Manhattan Avenues took eight days to complete. Kirchhausen says the mural brings beauty and positive vibes to the neighborhood.
"Art has the ability to brighten someone's day. On a bad day, when you are walking and you see something that really magnificent, that beauty can actually sink into you and kind of pull you up," said Kirchhausen.
According to the artist, if you look closely you will find the letters spelling Brooklyn in the mural.
