The new Hudson Yards Subway Station is opening next week and that means there's a little more color on your subway map now.

It's complete with a longer purple line stretching across 42nd Street and down to 34th Street and Eleventh Avenue.

It looks nice, but it's also a lot of work getting it done.

"There's about a half dozen stations that had to shift and move to make the line be clear. The map comes in several flavors. It comes in a pocket map which is free at the fare booth for anyone who asks. It's obviously on every subway car. We have big ones like this that are on the platform and by the fare booths so those are all different printings in different sizes. We print several million maps per year," says Chuck Gordanier, of the MTA's marketing department.

Some 7 train commuters may have already noticed a few changes at some stations.
