President Joe Biden signed an executive order that will significantly restrict migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border from claiming asylum.

The move would bar migrants from being granted asylum when U.S. officials deem that the southern border is overwhelmed.

It comes as more than 200,000 migrants have come to the city since spring 2022.

Immigration advocates are criticizing the executive order and called the order “reckless” and “inhumane.”

Natalia Aristizabal, the deputy director of Make the Road New York, joined NY1 political reporter Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to discuss more.
