Terry Golway is the author of a new book out this week published by St. Martin’s Press called “I Never Did Like Politics: How Fiorello La Guardia Became America’s Mayor, and Why He Still Matters.”
The book chronicles the former mayor’s political career, including his accomplishments like restoring the city’s economy during and after the Great Depression and helping end Tammany Hall’s corrupt stranglehold on New York politics.
It also examines how La Guardia, a Republican, would be perceived in today’s political climate.
Golway, historian and journalist, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Friday to discuss the book and La Guardia’s career.
