The New York Roadrunners is going ahead with its Brooklyn Half, albeit virtually, and we spoke with Olympic medalist and New York City Marathon champion Meb Keflezighi, who gave New Yorkers some advice on how to stay strong physically and mentally.
Keflezighi is the winner of both the New York City Marathon and Boston Marathon. He also won a silver medal in the 2004 Olympic marathon. NY1 spoke with him Tuesday to discuss how he's keeping high spirits amid the pandemic.

"I try to live by that maintaining excellent balance for health education and fitness," said Keflezighi. "That's what life is. And, you know, challenging moments, we can never predict when they come up, but when they come up you have to be flexible and take the challenge and do the best that you can day to day."
Keflezighi also recently surprised runners training for the virtual Brooklyn Half. He said he had a great time at the event last year, and even though this year may be challenging and difficult, the beauty of running is that you just need to lace up your shoes.
There's still time to sign up for the Brooklyn Half at NYRR.org.
