Robert Neulander's appeal for a new trial has been denied.

The convicted former DeWitt doctor had been calling for a third trial or a lesser sentence.

He was found guilty of killing his wife, Leslie, back in 2012.

Neulander was convicted for a second time for this offense in the spring of 2022.

His attorneys had argued that her injuries could have been caused by an accidental fall, but that argument was rejected.

Prosecutors had said the evidence from the murder scene showed what happened was no accident.

He will spend 20 years to life behind bars.
