TOLEDO, Ohio — This weekend, more than 6,000 runners and hundreds of spectators will flock to Toledo for a variety of races — the annual Mercy Health Glass City Marathon, Owens Corning Half Marathon, Savage 5k, the North Star Bluescope 5-Person Marathon Relay and the Nationwide Children's Toledo Race.
The races will affect traffic on and near the University of Toledo's main campus Saturday and Sunday, and the college is urging students, faculty, staff and visitors to plan ahead.
The following parking lots will be affected:
- Area 10 north of the Glass Bowl will be closed starting at 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. The university warns vehicles that aren't moved from Area 10 will be towed.
- No permit will be required for parking in Areas 1N, 1S, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 on Friday and Saturday
- Areas 5 and 6, the parking lots near Paul Hotmer Field, will be closed all day Sunday
- Parking permits will not be enforced Sunday, however, there are exceptions: reserved, disabled, metered, patient and no overnight parking spaces/areas
Parking maps and schedules can be found on the University of Toledo's website.
