A college football legend with Florida ties is retiring.
Lee Corso is leaving ESPN after nearly 40 years on the network's "College GameDay" program.
Corso played quarterback at Florida State in the 1950s, then went on to coach.
He joined ESPN in 1987, becoming a fixture on the Saturday morning pregame show.
He became famous for picking games by dressing like a school's mascot, donning the headgear of the team he predicted to win. According to ESPN, Corso went 286-144 overall in his 430 selections.
Corso turned 90 years old this year.
ESPN announced his retirement on Thursday, saying his final broadcast will be Aug. 30.
"My family and I will be forever indebted for the opportunity to be part of ESPN and College GameDay for nearly 40 years," Corso said in a statement released by ESPN. "I have a treasure of many friends, fond memories and some unusual experiences to take with me into retirement."
