CLEVELAND — For roller coaster fans awaiting the reopening of the Top Thrill 2 will have to wait a bit longer.

Originally closed in May for maintenance, the ride originally was to reopen during the 2024 season; however, in a social media post, Cedar Point said the manufacturer was not going to be able to complete the mechanical modifications to the coaster vehicles.

"We are extremely disappointed that we cannot open the ride this season, but remain committed to delivering a reliable, consistent and unparralleled coaster experience for our guests in 2025," the park said in a statement.

The ride was open for two weeks before Zamperla began to work on the mechanical modifications.
