GRAND CHUTE, Wis. – Milwaukee Brewers fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of one of their top pitchers, Brandon Woodruff, who has been on the injured list since mid-April with a subscapular strain in his right shoulder.
Woodruff is scheduled for two rehab starts with the High-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers after being on the Brewers' injured list for over three months.
He is 1-0 with a 0.79 ERA in his two starts so far this season for Milwaukee. Woodruff last pitched April 7 against the St. Louis Cardinals at American Family Field.
Milwaukee Brewers Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Arnold gave an update on Woodruff’s progress last week, saying the right-hander will hopefully join the Brewers rotation “within the next month or so”.
Woodruff's first rehab start is set for July 22 in a road game against the Dayton Dragons. He is also tentatively scheduled as the Rattlers starting pitcher for July 27 for a home game against the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
This will be Woodruff's second time pitching for the High-A Timber Rattlers. He made a start against the Quad Cities River Bandits in June last year.
Thursday, July 27 is a Craft Brews and Brats Night. Fans 21 and up can get local 16 oz beers for $3 and all fans can purchase brats for $3. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will also receive a poster of Brewers’ pitching prospect, Jacob Misiorowski.
