A man stabbed and killed another man in an unprovoked attack Thursday night in the Bronx, police said.

Officers hung the photo of the accused man outside of the entrance to the 176th Street subway station in the Bronx, where the attack occurred.

Jaai Marie takes the subway every day and attacks similar to this one worry her.

“Nowadays it’s more dangerous. There are more things happening: shootings, stabbings, robberies. You definitely gotta be aware,” Marie said.

In the surveillance video, it shows the attack play out as the victim exits the train. He’s wrestled to the ground as a man in a black hoodie attacks him.

The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, but died from his injuries Friday morning, police said.

This attack was one of four separate violent knife incidents on the subway over the course of just one day.

The incidents that happened Thursday have riders on edge.

“I get on the train go where I gotta go. Come back home to be honest. Keep to myself pretty much. The only thing used to put music in my ears now I don’t,” Marie said.

Shaun Rivera said living in the city has taught him to watch his back.

“I’m fine. Last time I checked I could take care of myself. I’m just aware who’s around me, that’s all,” Rivera said.

In a press conference Friday, Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said more needs to be done from the department to curb crime on public transit.

She said additional cops will ride the subway alongside New Yorkers.
