Good morning! We’ve got an active day across Texas today as an area of low pressure brings moisture across the state.
Most of central Texas will experience a cold rainfall throughout the day with rainfall accumulations around 1-2 inches. There will be locally higher totals, too. The precipitation will become heavier and more widespread in the late afternoon and evening timeframe.
There is a low chance for a wintry mix of sleet, freezing rain and snow over the Southern Edwards Plateau and Hill Country. In these areas, we may also see trace amounts of ice accumulations, making for very dangerous travel conditions.
All types of precipitation will move east overnight, exiting our area by daybreak Friday morning. Dangerous road conditions may still be present early Friday as any lingering moisture on the ground will re-freeze Friday night as our lows will be in the low 30s.
Fortunately, conditions will steadily improve into the weekend with returning sunshine and highs back near 60 by Saturday.
