A Bronx teacher is thinking outside the box and taking a less traditional route in getting laptops for her students.
29 year old Dana Pecharo is in her 3rd year teaching at The Urban Assembly Bronx Academy of Letters.
She works with students who might need a little extra help in school and said that getting laptops for them would mean a lot in expanding their writing and literacy skills.
What's limiting her, in part, is that nearly all the students at her school come from low‑income households.
So, she's turned to crowdfunding to help her come up with the more than $2,000 she needs to buy 8 Chromebooks for her students.
She's already raised almost half her goal on www.donorschoose.org.
If you'd like to help out, go to the website and type in Ms. Pecharo.
She must be fully funded by January 9th to get the money raised.
