SAN ANTONIO – The woman who was found dead lying in a pool of blood in her own home has been identified as 33-year-old Monica Trevino Martinez.

Martinez was killed on Feb. 21, and the suspect, 31-year-old Christian Daniel Martinez, was charged with murder.

According to a GoFundMe page*, Christian Martinez was Monica Martinez's husband, and her family said she was the victim of domestic violence.

A relative of Monica Martinez called 911 after she saw her dead through a window of the house, but was unable to get inside. EMS forced entry into the home and found a man in the living room along with Monica Martinez's body.

Christian Martinez was taken into custody at the Bexar County Jail and charged with first-degree murder.

The GoFundMe, created by Monica Martinez's family, is hoping to raise $8,500 for her memorial.
