It took four years, but Kew Gardens Hills finally has a library again.

Officials cut the ribbon on the newly renovated and expanded Kew Gardens Hills Library Wednesday.

There are now sections for adults and teens.

There is also a new Jewish reading section and hundreds of resources in both Hebrew and Russian.

The library closed down in 2013 for renovation but issues with construction and design left the library vacant for years.

"I know this has taken a long time, I do. It took years and it shouldn't have taken years," said Queens Borough President Melinda Katz.

"We said 'we're going to focus on making sure this opens and what we have today is a gorgeous library for the community and we thank the community for their patience," said Queens Library President and CEO Dennis Walcott.

Katz also says locals should expect some form of tribute in the library in memory of Assemblyman Michael Simanowitz who died over the weekend.
