A man wielding a pair of scissors has died in police custody after being tasered by an officer in the Bronx.
"He was a good man," one family member said.
That's how family members described 51-year-old Mario Ocasio.
Sources say Ocasio's girlfriend called police Monday morning, telling them he was high on drugs and threatening her with the scissors.
Responding officers say they tasered Ocasio after ordering him to drop the weapon.
Sources say emergency workers gave him a shot of a heroin antidote, then placed him in the ambulance where he went into cardiac arrest.
Ocasio was later pronounced dead at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
