Rep. Dan Goldman said the dismissal of Mayor Eric Adams’ corruption case “exposes the completely inappropriate weaponisation of the Department of Justice by Donald Trump.”

The charges against the mayor have been dropped without the possibility of coming back in the future, which rules out the idea that the Trump administration could use the charges as leverage over Adams.

In a 78-page decision, U.S. District Judge Dale Ho said it is unprecedented for the department to suggest that dropping the case against Adams would help the mayor better carry out the Trump administration’s immigration agenda.

“That suggestion is fundamentally incompatible with the basic promise of equal justice under law,” the judge wrote.

Goldman also discussed Trump's new tariffs and the future of the Brooklyn Marine Terminal.
