Siena College released a poll Tuesday showing that at least half of all New Yorkers feel that state is moving in the wrong direction.
But that sentiment is not a new one.
The amount of New Yorkers who believe the state is headed in the wrong direction has never dropped below 50% all year, according to the poll.
This was also reflected in the way New Yorkers voted this past November, with districts across the five boroughs shifting toward Republicans.
That includes district 17, an Asian-majority district that spans the neighborhoods of Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Sunset Park.
State Sen. Iwen Chu joined NY1 political reporter Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to discuss more.
She has represented the district for the past two years but was defeated by her Republican challenger, Steve Chan, last month.
