State leaders are now in their second week of budget negotiations and remain divided on some key issues.
As we mentioned before the break, lawmakers have been making a strong push for the NY HEAT Act, a measure that would repeal gas incentives and promote the statewide transition from gas to renewable energy.
There is also pushback to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s proposed funding allocation for the Clean Water Infrastructure Act, which lawmakers say isn’t enough.
This all comes as the commissioner of the state Department of Environmental Conservation announced earlier this year that he would be stepping down once the budget passes.
This would cap his eight-year-long tenure.
Basil Seggos joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to discuss more.
