2. Supreme Court sides with Biden administration over Republican-led states in social media dispute

The Supreme Court sided with the Biden administration on Wednesday against Republican-led states over combatting misinformation about controversial topics, including COVID-19 and election security, on social media.

3. Encounters at the U.S.-Mexico border drop 40% in weeks since Biden's border crackdown, DHS says

The average number of encounters at the U.S. southern border decreased more than 40% in the three weeks since President Joe Biden announced executive action to crack down on illegal crossings, the Department of Homeland Security said on Wednesday. 

4. New home sales fell in May to lowest level in six months

Sales fell 11.3% compared with April and are 16.5% lower compared with May 2023. New home sales in May dropped to a seasonally adjusted rate of 619,000 units annually.

5. Honda will lease nation's first plug-in hydrogen fuel cell vehicle in July

The nation’s first plug-in electric hydrogen fuel cell vehicle will be available for lease in California starting in July. Honda said Wednesday it will make 300 of its CR-V e:FCEVs available with three different lease options, all of which include hydrogen fuel credits starting at $15,000.

6. Hollywood crews, studios reach tentative contract deal, making another big strike unlikely

The union that represents most behind-the-scenes film and television crews has reached a tentative deal with studios for about 50,000 of its members, making another major, production-stopping strike unlikely after a year of labor turmoil in Hollywood.
