INGLEWOOD, Calif. — At SoFi Stadium, a team of trained Harris hawks plays a crucial role in maintaining safety and cleanliness by deterring nuisance birds from the area. 

The stadium’s 16-million-gallon lake is a major draw for ducks, geese and seagulls, which can create sanitation issues and pose a threat to planes coming and leaving LAX. 

Jorge Herrera, the official falconer of SoFi Stadium, and his hawks effectively deter these nuisance birds without harming them, using their predatory presence to signal a no-trespassing zone.
