Snow blanketed several southern cities on Jan. 21 to Jan 22, 2025. New Orleans, La. accumulated 10 inches of snow, the most snow the cities has ever seen. Other notable southern metros include Houston, Texas with 3 inches, Tallahassee, Fla. with 2 inches and Myrtle Beach, S.C. where totals ranged from 3 to 5 inches.
Thanks to the polar vortex sending cold air as far south as the Gulf Coast and a storm system traversing the region, snow fell in areas that aren’t used to seeing flakes fly.

Tallahassee, Fla. accumulated 2 inches of snow and sleet, whereas Pensacola Beach, Fla. saw 7.5 inches.
