LOS ANGELES (CNS) — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped seven-tenths of a cent Wednesday to $5.356, ending a streak of 30 days of increases.
The average price rose 39.1 cents over those 30 days, including nine- tenths of a cent Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. The streak of increases followed a run of six decreases in seven days, totaling 2.2 cents.
The average price is 9.7 cents more than one week ago, 38.4 cents higher than one month ago and 2.5 cents above what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.138 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5.
The Orange County average price rose one-tenths of a cent to $5.306. It has increased 22 of the past 23 days, rising 28.2 cents, including three- tenths of a cent Tuesday. It is 9.7 cents more than one week ago, 40.5 cents higher than one month ago and 7.6 cents above what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price has dropped $1.153 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5.
The national average price dropped for the sixth consecutive day following a run of 26 increases in 30 days, totaling 31.2 cents, dropping nine- tenths of a cent to $3.845. It has dropped 3 cents over the past six days, including 1.1 cents Tuesday.
The national average price is 2.8 cents less than one week ago and 4.7 cents lower than one year ago, but 25.1 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.171 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
