At another town hall meeting on next year's L train shutdown in Brooklyn, the MTA laid out some of its plan.
The MTA says there will be weekend and overnight closures over the next few months to get the Canarsie Tunnel ready for a complete shutdown next April.
It also plans to expand bus service, ferry service and the use of bike lanes.
"Well, I'd say we do have a concrete plan. The plan is not yet set in stone, which is the reason why we're here, to, once again, get input from the community. And the fact is both the department of transportation and ourselves, New York City Transit, we're both bending over backwards to get input from people on both sides of the East River."
The Canarsie Tunnel will be closed for 15 months to repair damage from Hurricane Sandy.
