Select Bus Service on the Q52 and Q53 bus lines launched Sunday in Queens.

The new extended route runs from the Woodside Long Island Railroad (LIRR) station, down Woodhaven and Cross Bay Boulevards, and into Far Rockaway.

Despite some opposition from residents and local leaders, the MTA said the line will benefit the area.

It will serve some 30,000 daily riders and connect commuters to several subway and bus lines and the LIRR.
