MTA to Take Riders Into the Past with Vintage Trains and Buses on Some Lines

This holiday season, you can turn back time.

Starting next month, the vintage eight-car subway train known as the "Shoppers Special" will run along the M line for four consecutive Sundays between the Second Avenue and Queens Plaza stations.

The MTA says the vintage fleet gives riders a chance to experience what it was like to use public transit half a century ago.

Above ground, straphangers can also roll through town on vintage buses on the M42 line on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
